Unlike a suspension, a driver’s license revocation is indefinite. If you want to regain the ability to drive legally after a revocation, you must request license reinstatement through the Illinois Secretary of State. Informal hearings are held on a walk-in basis and conducted by a hearing officer.

You May Need to Have a BAIID Installed

A breath alcohol ignition interlock device (BAIID) is a device that measures the amount of alcohol on a driver’s breath. It is essentially a breathalyzer that is installed in your vehicle. You must breathe into the device and prove that you are not under the influence to start the car. If the device detects alcohol, the car will not start. BAIIDs are required for an RDP if the person has two or more DUIs on their record.
